Nepali-American Community Center

About

Nepali American Community Center (NACC) is established by DC Metro community members, organizations and friends around the world on the year 2019 as a US non-profit and tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in Northern Virginia. The objectives of NACC is to preserve and promote Nepali identity, culture, languages, social and cultural values, norms and manners through the organization; as well as maintain and operate Nepali American Community Center to facilitate social, educational, cultural, spiritual and sports activities and programs aimed at promoting multiculturalism and social harmony in Northern Virginia.

It consists of 11-member Board of Trustees, 11-member Executive Committee along with General Yearly Members, Life Members, Trustee members, Benefactor members, Platinum members and Patron members. It also has Life, Trustee, Benefactor, Platinum and Patron institutional members. Anyone can join these membership categories by paying required amount of membership fees for each category.

NACC organized a seven-day DC Metro Saptaha event in the year 2019 as its first event and raised more than 2 million dollars (more than 1 million in cash and more than 1 million in pledges) to buy land for NACC Campus and build community center along with other amenities (such as Temples etc) needed by the community.  Nearly 2000 families and several institutions became member of NACC on various categories during this event. NACC membership base expected to expand rapidly until June 30, 2021 as prospective members have incentive to be a founder of the community center until this date.

Mission

To establish a Nepali-American Community Center in the United States that represents, celebrates, promotes, preserves, strengthens, and transmits the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Nepal among all generations of people of Nepali origin living in North America (Nepali Americans) and among all friends of Nepal so as to enable all to cultivate and maintain a vibrant, positive and organic connection between Nepal and the United States of America.

Vision

Unite the Nepali communities to preserve and promote Nepali identity, cultural heritage, languages, traditions, norms, values and manners through the organization for many generations making the Nepali community a tangible presence in the American mainstream.

Goals

To build, maintain, and expand the Nepali-American Community Center and to operate it with the deliberate institutional purpose of achieving goals that will contribute to the realization of the above vision.
